Studio Experiences
Nurture your Creative Spirit!…and explore your inner artist…
Immerse yourself in the possibilities whilst enjoying workshops at the lovely light filled ‘Soulspace’ studio. The studio is in an old weaving mill, and was originally the old drawing offices, with big windows facing onto the landscape and north lights, which bathes the space in light even on the dullest of days! I share the studio with artist friend Michael Howley and together we have created two separate studio spaces within the space, with a big centre table for classes and workshops, with a woodburning stove and tea and coffee, refreshment facilities.
The studio has lots of resources for all the workshops and often materials needed are included in the workshop, but check for details on the particular course or workshop you are interested in.
From the studio I offer;
Training for art co-ordinators and teachers from local / Lancashire primary schools, to do some hands-on practical workshops exploring and having some time out to play, practice and experiment with different methods for the classroom. All these sessions are face to face and numbers are limited to 10 maximum. The CPD sessions are themed, but I can also run tailored training, please get in touch for further details.
I also offer my courses online, for schools further afield. Click here for more details….
Courses for Adults – Come along to enjoy a therapeutic workshop, creating, painting, making, exploring! Whatever your passion is, trying out new skills and ideas, allowing time to immerse yourself in possibilities…Look out for what courses I am running, or click add me to your mailing list and I will send details.
Workshops for children – I am often asked to run workshops for children. These are age-appropriate and themed and a great way to develop skills and make something to take home. Contact for further details or look out for workshops taking place. Workshops are priced per child and often include materials.
One off Workshops – I often run themed workshops for half days or full days. Again look out for details. One-off workshops can be on the run-up to Christmas, making lovely crafts, children’s Christmas workshops and also throughout the year, an assortment of one-off painting and creative textile sessions ranging from silk painting, felting, collage, mixed media and printing to name a few!
Courses for Embroiderers – I can facilitate workshops at the studio for embroiderers with their own machines who want to develop some mixed media textiles. These courses are often a full day from 10 – 4, or run over a few sessions. As part of the workshops, you would develop different backgrounds on paper and fabric, using collage to build up the designs, finally free machine stitching with your own machine on the top. Please contact me for further details about these more specialist sessions. I often am invited to do talks, presentations and demos to Embroiderers Guild groups and members and run weekend courses in various settings, again please contact for further details
Note – For all participants of workshops at the studio and visitors, there is parking outside the mill at the front of the building, a car park on the side of the building and parking around the back of the mill also.
Please see the map and photo of the mill, so you know where you’re heading!
