TESTIMONIALS

“Jacqui worked with our primary school children to develop and ‘regenerate’ some previously dull and uninspiring spaces in our school. She injected a real sense of creativity into us all, inspiring and leading the children on an artistic journey based on their experiences…both of the locality and the wider world! She built fabulous relationships with the children and all the adults she worked with across school – she herself oozed enthusiasm and this had a real effect on us all. She helped the children turn their ideas into stunning works of art, developing skills and excitement in all who were involved. Jacqui encouraged the children to take ownership of their surroundings and to have pride in their achievements. She communicated with
the children at just the right level. She challenged them and gave them the confidence to ‘have a go’. It all culminated in fantastic outcomes that really enhanced our school, were relevant to the children and wider community, and which continue to attract compliments and brighten up our school today.” – Catherine Robinson (Assistant Headteacher Heasandford Primary School, Burnley)

“Jacqui has done some brilliant work with the children in our school. Her work across both key stages, with a tricky brief and under tight time scales was superb. She has a warm manner and enthusiastic rapport with the children that rubs of in their attitude towards their artwork. The collaborative work that she produced with the children was excellent and now takes pride of place around the school. In addition, she has passed on many useful tips and skills to the staff and I would high recommend working in partnership with her. – John Sansom Art Subject Leader, St Johns CE Primary School, Cliviger.

“Jacqui has worked with us on many projects and each time has surpassed our expectations. Her work with families was always engaging and exciting and both children and adults loved taking part in Jacqui’s fantastic activities each week. From staff training to open ended art work to producing stunning wall hangings for our centre, the standard of Jacqui’s work and enthusiasm was always high. Highly recommended” – Vicky Finley, Cluster Leader, Preston West & Riverbank Children’s Centres

“Jacqui has completed a number of projects with our children and we have never been disappointed. The quality of work produced is outstanding and the children thoroughly enjoy the experience and learn a range of new skills as well. Jacqui has a great working relationship with the children and she has a knack of turning a vague idea at the outset into a piece of work the children and school community are very proud of.” – Ian Jones, Headteacher, St. Mary’s R.C. Primary School, Burnley.

“I have worked with Jacqui on a number of projects from working in schools, nurseries and with the community. I have always found Jacqui to be flexible and creative with the projects I have presented to her, making them engaging for both children and adults. Jacqui worked on one of our larger projects; working across six schools we provided a yearlong project about fairy tales linked with speech and language. I found Jacqui’s knowledge and understanding of primary education and working in schools invaluable.
Jacqui has worked with our Children’s Centre for years, I would always recommend her as she has encouraged and engaged some of those children and families that would not normal access. Jacqui has given them the opportunity to use their imagination and creativity in producing art work both for the centre and themselves.”– Anna Ebanks Ightenhill Children’s Centre Manager

‘Jacqui has facilitated a number of ‘arty’ workshops for the children and young people we work with. She readily gets the children’s attention and interest and comes really well prepared with loads of ideas and different materials which the children are immediately intrigued by. Our children have made Modrock and clay sculptures, junk models, iced space biscuits and have created fantastic space themed artwork. Jacqui thinks on her feet and relates to each child as an individual identifying what they are interested in creating. She seems to have infinite patience to support children to make their creations and ensures there are plenty of activities on offer throughout the session. ‘ – Louise Rymer and Janine Sawyer, Lancashire County Council

I have worked alongside Jacqui on several different creative projects in nursery schools. Jacqui has a lovely warm manner with children and gets them engaged right from the start. She has inspiring ideas for the children to work on and her approach is very child centred, focusing on the process of being creative rather than the ‘end product’. Having said this, the children’s work always looked amazing! Jacqui also worked with the staff and parents providing ideas and hands on activities that were informative and great fun. Naturally this had an impact on their approach to creative work for themselves and with the children. I would thoroughly recommend working with Jacqui, she is a talented artist with a real and infectious passion for her work. – Jane Imrie, Headteacher, Woodfield Nursery School.

“Jacqui has worked with us on a number of projects over the years. She originally began work during the Olympic year helping children within Key Stage 1 and 2 to create two murals of Olympic Sports, which were to be kept as a lasting memory on display in our Sports Hall. When working with the children she listened to their ideas, took on board their requests and helped them to create fantastic and inspiring work, which is viewed every day by visitors and children.
After renewing and rebuilding part of the school we gained a long corridor which needed filling with something. We rang Jacqui to ask for her advice and after consulting and working with both staff and children on initial ideas work began on the ‘Literacy inspired corridor’. Jacqui’s and the children’s work along this corridor is now the show piece to our school as the work and quotes created along it are both inspirational and outstanding. Everyone that comes to visit comments on how effective ALL the work is.
If that wasn’t enough Jacqui came back again to add more colour and magic to our Sports halls white walls. After discussing with the children what they thought about the space and what it meant to them Jacqui added some of their designs in large scale to the walls. These were also joined by outlines of sports events.
Without Jacqui’s ideas and enthusiasm a lot of our ideas wouldn’t have been possible – so I would like to say a big thank you from all of the children and the staff. – Sarah-Jane Carroll – Deputy Head at St Laurence’s Primary School, Kirkby

“Children see magic because they look for it” – Christopher Moore
